The Queens Drive route runs from Childers Terrace and connects to the Leonie Gill Pathway. In September 2017 we asked the community for feedback on two options for this street.
Neither option came out on top and any proposal would need to be consistent with Childers Terrace.
We will continue to look at possible ways to safely and consistently connect this section of Queens Drive with the Leonie Gill Pathway and Crawford Road via Childers Terrace. This may be developed in the future. There will be another opportunity to provide feedback before any decisions are made.
The kerbside bike lane improves safety for people on bikes, and encourages less confident riders to use the route. Traffic speeds will reduce due to narrower traffic lanes and this will improve safety. This option requires removing more parking than Option B.
Parking retained on east side of street
Current footpath widths retained
Traffic lanes reduced in width from 3.6m to 3m
About 33 parking spaces removed on the west side of the street
Likely uptake by people on bikes: Moderate to high increase

Less parking is removed in this option compared with Option A.
