The content on this page was accurate at the time of the traffic resolution consultation, and some changes were made to the project as a result of community feedback. We've kept this page to make sure we are being transparent about our process and to show how the project has developed. The main project page is the most up to date place, and more information about the Council's decision can be found in the meeting minutes.
We are making parking changes along this busy commuter route to improve the journey times for buses, remove pinch points for buses and cars, and to encourage more people to go by bike or bus and reduce carbon emissions.

Through our engagement with businesses in the Kaiwharawhara area, we’ve identified that taking a staged approach will help businesses adapt to the changes over time.
Through our engagement with residents in Cameron Street, we’ve identified that the proposed new time restrictions to the parking on this street will ensure the parking is used more efficiently for residents and people working in the area.
We are removing some parking in Kenya Street but our parking survey suggests that these changes will still leave enough parking capacity for residents to easily find a park in the area.
When stage 3 is completed, three P30 carparks and 45 unrestricted car parks will have been removed on Kaiwharawhara Road.
